The new and rising Middle Eastern Airline, Etihad Airways is up and ready to make 2011 its biggest year. The airline has expressed enhancement and expansion plans today, that include adding new routes, increasing flight frequencies and ordering new aircrafts for improved services globally.
The airline has declared Manchester to be its focus airport, along with a number of European airports set to see more services from Etihad. Manchester is a great choice, as most International airlines only offer flights to or from London Heathrow and London Gatwick airports. Etihad’s expansion plans for 2011 will also add more seats and increase the number of flights at the northern England airport with three additional flights. The airport previously operating seven flights, will offer its customer with 10 flights a week. Also, Etihad will take its services to a whole new level by introducing another Boeing 777 aircraft onto the route.
In addition to the new Boeing 777, Etihad Airline is also expected to take delivery of five new aircrafts, two Boeing 777-300 ER and three wide-body A330-300s passenger aircraft during the summer.
James Hogan, CEO Etihad Airways stated that this year will be one of the most important in Etihad Airways’ eight-year history. Explaining the kind of advancements planned by Etihad, he added that 2011 would see the airline “add depth and scale” to its operations and move towards its break-even target by the end of the year.
The airline is likely to announce the final start dates of the additional flights soon.
